Kiverdi’s Carbon Engineering™ Platform, the cornerstone of the company's innovative strategy, is feedstock flexible. Compared to the industry norm, Kiverdi is capable of converting manufacturing waste and syngas into high-value oils and chemicals faster, better, and cheaper. At commercial scale, Kiverdi’s operating expenditures are expected to be 65% lower than currently available sugar-derived oils and its capital expenditures are expected to be 50%-75% lower than that needed to produce products requiring chemical catalysts. Our highly selective biochemical platform maximizes production of the desired oil-based products, enabling Kiverdi to capture 2x-5x greater value than chemical catalyst, and Kiverdi’s oil yield is 5x-10x higher than other microbial gas-to-liquid technologies. But what’s truly groundbreaking is the fact that the platform is not limited to producing short-chain molecules, such as ethanol and butanol. Kiverdi’s platform is able to produce mid- and long-chain, higher value oils and chemicals, such as palm oil and other oleochemical replacements.  The potential scale of Kiverdi’s innovation is considerable given that palm oil and other oleochemicals are the key ingredients of a wide range of products, such as personal care products, detergents, coatings, and biomaterials. Market analysts point to the development of bio-based surfactants as a key trend in the global, specialty surfactant market, due to increasing environmental awareness and regulatory support for sustainable products, particularly in Europe and North America. Our technology can also transform waste carbon into fuels and fuel additives for the diesel, jet, and automotive transportation industries. 

Kiverdi’s technology is proprietary and our sustainable competitive advantage comes from our IP position, including our proprietary microbes and our flexible, custom-designed Carbon Engineering™ Platform. Kiverdi has several patents pending on its microorganisms, bioprocess and microbe engineering platform that enables the production of drop-in and custom oil-derived chemicals and fuel. Kiverdi also has joint IP with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories, (owned by Kiverdi) where analysis was completed to confirm that our microbes produce targeted oil and hydrocarbon molecules at an oil yield potential of over 70%.
